Hey, welcome back to my site. Today, I wanted to share a travel adventure. Last year, I had the opportunity to go to Houston, Texas for the first time. What an amazing trip! I enjoyed it so much and cannot wait to go back. I do not think we even scratched the surface of all the things to do in Texas.
Every year, my Mom and sister go on a girl’s trip with friends from church. Often, I would have to miss these trips because of work. In July 2023, I was finally able to make it to my first girl’s trip to Houston, Texas. While we were down there, we were also celebrating a birthday, which is always fun. For this trip, there were people traveling in from different places. The first day was relaxing since everyone was getting in at different times. I flew down, met the first round of people at the hotel, and then met my Mom and sister. I ended up sharing a room with my sister and one of her friends from church, Kiera. That night I got my hair braided by my Mom, so I was good for the next few weeks.
For day 2, we went to Lucille’s for brunch. Then, we went to the Museum for Black Girls which is a selfie museum. Next, we went to the Memorial City mall to do some shopping. For day 3, we had our downtown Houston day. We went to the African American Museum, got some food, and then saw a baseball game. We saw the Houston Astros, who ended up winning that night. It was a cool experience. We do not often go to baseball games, so it was nice to switch it up.
On day 4, we had some people starting to leave to go back home, so we kept it chill that day. We went back to the mall just to make sure we got everything we wanted. Then, we went to a new area to find something to eat. We ended up going to Bosscat Kitchen & Libations. The mac n’ cheese was amazing! On the last day, day 5, I had an early flight. I ended up leaving first to head back to Denver.
All in all, it was a great trip! I really enjoyed getting to not only travel to a new place, but also travel with people I typically do not go on trips with. We had the best time and got to do a variety of things. I cannot wait to go back and explore more. Below I wanted to share some photos from the trip. Also, I posted a ton on my Instagram, so you can head over there to check out more images too.
As y’all know, I love making creative content using different mediums. For years, I have wanted to make vlog style videos. I figured this trip would be a great opportunity to try it out. Below, I have attached a vlog from my YouTube channel about my trip to Houston, TX. Honestly, I loved making this style of content, so subscribe and let me know in the comments of this post if you want to see more videos.
Thank you for checking out my travels and different styles of content! I really appreciate you taking your time to spend with me. Please leave one of your favorite places that you have travelled to recently in the comments below.
I hope you are having a great day. I will see you soon with something new!
