Currently, I am attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Somehow, I was convinced by one of friends to play rugby. Before I started playing, I did not know anything about it, but I feel like I have been able to pick up the game pretty well. Moving forward, we were playing a rugby game one Saturday morning. I was going to tackle this girl and the next thing I knew I was on the ground. I felt fine. I just could not move my leg. As the trainer came over, we had a casual conversation while she stretched out my leg. She said that I had what was called “dead leg.” For the rest of the game, I was walking back and forth on the sidelines. After the game, she stretched me out again. Then, she suggested I take an Epsom salt bath. At first, I was like that should be no problem.
Then, it hit me. I did not want to take a bath in my dorm. That bath tub was so gross. On move in day, my best friend/ roommate and I bleached the bath tub, because it looked so bad. After I though about having to take a bath in that, I was sad. I figured my leg hurt and I had to if I did not want my leg to get worst. After the game, I made the trip to Publix’s to get the Epsom salt. When I got home, I decided to turn this unfortunate event into a spa afternoon.
First, I got all the things that I needed in order to have a successful spa day. Then, I got the things to help my leg. The results were great. Also, it took me so long to do this whole process because I had to limp to transfer all the items from my room to the bathroom. It was hilarious. Either way, this is how to make the best situation out of a gross college bath tub.
1 . Clean the tub
I see how this step can seem obvious, but it is very important to intensely clean the tub. I know we have been staying in this dorm for a while and we have tried to work our magic on the tub, but that does not make it any less gross. Especially since it is in an older dorm.
2. Create the best bath
Of course, you run the hot water. We did not have a stopper, so I had to get crafty and make one using a rag. As the water was running, I added the Epsom salt and 2 squares of the Zoella fizz bar, which works and smells great. I never take baths, so I was excited to finally use them. After those dissolved, it was complete.
3. Mood Music
After you prepare the bath, you need to listen to the right music. I like different genres of music, so it depends on the day for what type of music I want to listen to. For this occasion, my album of choice was Hell’s Kitchen Angel by Max Schneider. It is absolutely amazing! If you have not listened to it, you need it, because he is incredible!
4. Face mask
Recently, I have gotten into face masks. I enjoy them so much. When I get the right one, it leaves my face really soft, hydrated, and rejuvenated. Plus, face masks make me feel so relaxed. For this occasion, I used a Yes to coconuts face mask. I like it. It feels good on the skin and always leaves it feeling soft. You are supposed to leave it on for 10-15 minutes. I went a little over.
5. Relaxing activities
For the Epsom salt bath, I needed to stay in the bath for 15-20 minutes. First, I took off my nail polish on my fingers and clipped them. That nail polish was so old and it was ready to come off. I figured why not clip my nails too. I have time. Afterwards, I pulled out my iPod touch and played Sudoku. I ended up playing 2 games, while listening to Max. Honestly, it was one of the most relaxing baths I have ever taken.
All in all, the Epsom salt bath in the college tub ended up being one of the best baths. It was so relaxing and calming. Beyond hurting my leg, I was having a very stressful week. It was refreshing to be able to take a minute away from the stress. In addition, my leg felt better, so goods things all around. Afterwards, I took a nap. There is nothing better than a good nap.
