Over the summer, some amazing music has been released. I have listened to a lot of new music this summer, so I wanted to share some of favorite songs.
As y’all may know, I am very indecisive, so I am going to do a part 1 and part 2 of summer jams, because there are so many songs I have enjoyed and want to share. If you have not heard any of these songs, you should give them a listen.
1. Anywhere by Mustard and Nick Jonas
I enjoyed this song. My favorite part is hearing all the differences in the beat and electronic aspects. The beat flows throughout the song. I like the contrast in tempo and rhythm. Nick’s vocals are amazing as always.
2. Perfectly Wrong and Lost in Japan by Shawn Mendes
I liked Shawn Mendes’s album. I think he is an incredible artist. I wanted to share my two favorite songs from the album. Perfectly Wrong is an amazing ballet. I love a song with vocals and piano. It is so simple and really showcases emotion and talent. The simplicity is continued throughout the song with the addition of other instruments. Each instrument adds another level. The song is written well. Then, Shawn’s vocals bring everything together.
On the other hand, there is Lost in Japan. From the first time I heard this song, I have loved it! This song tells a great story. You cannot help but want to dance when you hear it. Instantly, I picture a couple dancing in the streets of Japan. I love the jazzy pop vibe of this song. The instrumentation is perfect. Each instrument is highlighted throughout the song and it sounds amazing.
3. Back to You by Selena Gomez
I love the music video for this song. I always think it is a treat to see Selena act. I think this is a classic Selena song. I have to say that the artists she works with always make songs for her voice perfectly. This song is no different. I love the flow of the beat. I like the lyrics too.
4. Fall in Line by Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato
This song is so powerful. Especially having two artists like Christina and Demi, I except no less. I love the message of this song. It is very feminist inspired! I love the heavy drums throughout the song. I love the defined beat in the bass. It makes their vocals sound even better. Also, I love the subtle additions of other instruments like the guitar. Their vocals sound amazing throughout, especially in the bridge and ending chorus. I love a good key change at the end of a song.
5. Entertainer by ZAYN
I love the beat and vibe of this song. It flows so well and matches Zayn’s voice perfectly. I love the harmonization in the chorus. I love the contrast in tempos between the verses and chorus. I always catch myself dancing to this song.
6. Girls like You by Maroon 5
I like the music video for this song. It is great to see all of those incredible women in one video. The song itself is great. I love the guitar throughout. I like the simplicity of layers in the music, because it highlights the lyrics even more. Of course, Cardi B’s verse is perfect.
7. Growing Pains by Alessia Cara
I liked this song. I thought it was very Alessia Cara. I think this song is very relatable to life, which she is always good at doing in her music.
8. Bed by Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande
I will never get tired of a Nicki Minaj and Ariana collaboration. I love this song! The beat is perfect. Ariana sings the chorus perfectly. I love how controlled her vocals are throughout the song. Nicki sounds amazing as always.
9. Ocean by Martin Garrix and Khalid
I have loved all of these collaborations Khalid has been putting out recently. I love the message of this song. I love the beat and tempo. I wish the drop in the chorus was a little bit heavier. Contrastingly, I love the strings throughout and the prechorus.
10. Silence by Marshmello and Khalid
On World of Dance, Sean Lew and Kaycee Rice did a dance to this song. It was incredible! If you have not seen it, you should. They danced blindfolded and everything. In addition, I love the song as well. The message is perfect. I love the lyrics and vocals. I like how the beat really supports the vocals throughout.
Please share with me any songs you have been loving, because I am always looking for new music to add to my library. Look out for Part 2 of the summer jams.
Thanks so much for checking out my post! Have an amazing day!
