As promised, I wanted to post my summer jams part 2. I wanted to post this sooner, but I just finished two weeks of exams. Y’all know how exams go. Hopefully, you find an old or new favorite song from this list. I hope you enjoy!
1. Glowed Up by Kaytranada and Anderson .Paak
There is a dance routine to this song on YouTube. It is choreographed by Jake Kodish. You have to watch it, because it is amazing! This is where I found this song actually. I love it! I think the beat is amazing and I love the heavy beat drop throughout. If you listen to it on Spotify, there is another part to the song that is completely different than the beginning. I think both parts sound amazing.
2. Dance to This by Troye Sivan and Ariana Grande
I love Troye and Ariana. I was so excited when I saw they collaborated together. This song is amazing! It makes me want to dance. I love the vibe. Their voices sound great together! The layering of vocals throughout was really good. I love each of their parts in the song. Also, the music video is very fun. Overall, I liked the concept and vibe of it.
3. Honest by Bazzi
I love this song so much! This song also makes me want to dance. There is so much attitude and emotion in this song. I love the contrast of beats between the verses and chorus. The beat is paired perfectly with the lyrics. I love the addition of the guitar part in verse 2. It really added another layer to the whole song.
4. No Peace by Sam Smith and YEBBA
I had the opportunity to see Sam Smith live over the summer. If you have not seen him, I highly suggest that you go next time. That was one of the best concerts I have ever been too. I loved this duet! I love the simplicity of the instruments, so their vocals can be the focus. They sound amazing and the lyrics are perfect.
5. Drowning Shadows by Sam Smith
This song is so good! I love the string intro of the song. Once again, I love the simplicity of the instruments, so it highlights his vocals. His voice is incredible! His range is everything and the lyrics are beautiful. Lastly, I love the contrast in dynamics throughout.
6. Afire Love by Ed Sheeran
This song had me in tears the first time I heard it. I love when Ed Sheeran tells childhood stories in his music. He is so good at writing personal and emotional songs. Honestly, he is amazing at writing period. I love every aspect of this song. I love how the piano is paired with his vocals. I love how the guitar highlights throughout. Everything about this song is perfect.
7. Sober by Demi Lovato
This is a very emotional song. I love Demi and I have loved her for years. It is sad when you have to see someone that you care about struggling, but I know she can get through this. Something I love about Demi is her ability to use music to really communicate to her people and herself. She really lets us into her soul through her music. This song is a perfect example. The fact that she chose to use this song as a way to let her fans and other people into her world makes me feel that much closer to her.
8. Unhinged by Nick Jonas
Like Demi, y’all know that I have loved Nick Jonas since the beginning of his career. I love his musical abilities. They are very personalized to him. His writing skills are incredible and displayed perfectly in this song. I love the simplicity of instrumentation, so his vocals and lyrics can be highlighted. You can feel the emotion in every word.
9. Blue Tint and In My Feelings by Drake
I think Drake is amazing. I enjoyed his album and thought it was very Drake. I wanted to share two of my favorite songs from the album. Like everyone else in the world, I loved In My Feelings. I think it has a lot to do with the vibe of the song. I love the beat and vocals in the background. The song feels a little old school with some new school. The Lil Wayne sampling is everything. I thought the sampling on the whole album was amazing and worth mentioning.
In addition, I love Blue Tint. The beat is everything. I love the running notes throughout the song. I liked the flow. I automatically start dancing when I hear it. I think the pairing of vocals is great too.
Please share with me any songs you have been loving, because I am always looking for new music to add to my library.
Thanks so much for checking out my post! Have a great day!
