2019 has by far been the craziest year of my life. It was a time of growth. I definitely learned a lot about myself. Like every year, I always go back to this post because this is where it all began.
Before I start my list, I want to encourage you to make your own list of your favorite memories from 2019. If you have not started one for 2020 then lucky for you it is only March, so you have plenty time to get on it. Whether it is a list on your phone, your photos, or even your calendar, write down those great times, so you have them when you feel low.
2019, what do you got…
- Went to Atlanta for a day trip with Russo
- Went on a cabin trip with a group of friends for MLK weekend
- Saw Fever 333, Thrice, and Bring Me the Horizon with Russo
- Saw Metallica the next day with Jenny (Their set was amazing!)
- Went to Kylan’s first birthday at Mikala’s with Jacobi.
- Went to see the orchestra (jazz quartet) with Russo, Jessica, and Jessica’s Mom at the Tivoli. Jess and I danced on stage.
- Went to see the Book of Moron with Jenny and Corey at the Tivoli.
- Went to see two soccer games with Kelsey at Nissan Stadium. It was amazing because it was a women’s tournament. The first game was Brazil vs. Japan. The second game was the USA Women’s team vs. France Women’s team. It was incredible!
- On March 7, 2019 sometime after work in the afternoon… Russo, Jessica, and I went to pick up two puppies with a grand introduction… Sora Luna and Lector Wayne. Then, the fun began.
- Went to a Black entrepreneur’s event with Jacobi at the Hunter Museum. I ended up winning a prize, which was cool.
- I saw UTC Theater do Cats the Musical with Jenny and Sora outside. It was so fun!
- On Saturday, May 4, 2019, I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor’s in Science in Entrepreneurship and Marketing and a Spanish minor.
- I was promoted to a Service and Engagement executive team lead at Target. I went straight from a team member to an ETL, so that was pretty cool.
- Got my own cell phone and cell phone plan #adulting
- Then, I got to travel for a month training for my position. I went to Gunbarrel (Chattanooga), Nashville for orientation and classes, Atlanta (1 week), and Clarksville (2 weeks). It was an interesting time. I went shopping, saw Toy Story 4, experienced two rental cars, met some interesting people, stayed in some amazing hotels, and learned a lot about Target.
- Went to Yasmin’s wedding and got to see Yasmin, Ciera, Beyoncé, and Jasmin. We spent the night in a hotel downtown. We had so much fun catching up.
- I moved into my first apartment by myself. It has been an interesting but worthwhile learning process as well as a lot of fun getting to decorate all of the rooms.
- Went to Jenny’s bachelorette party, which was amazing! It was Harry Potter themed. We went to the Moxi downtown Chattanooga. We rode on this bicycle that fits 10 people. It goes to all the local bars downtown and you can bring your own drinks for the ride.
- Saw half of Shawn Mendes’s concert with Dalany. We were so late, but he was amazing!
- Went on a cruise to the Bahamas with my Mom, Dad, and Kelsey. It was everything and then some! I saw some comedy shows, musicals, rode Segway’s, swam in the ocean, played games, sang, danced, drank, ate… had the best time ever… was never in the room!
- Went to Jenny and Corey’s wedding, which was amazing! I got to hang with the Target crew for the night.
- *Bucket List item* Saw the Jonas Brothers on their Happiness Begins tour with Kelsey. Trust me…I fan-girled so hard!
- Made my first cover and song(s) with Russo (YP on the track.) We learned how to completely edit a song start to finish… we spent a lot of time in the studio. (https://www.instagram.com/youngerperception/)
- Got another musical tattoo on my arm
- Learned how to work at Starbuck’s #educated
- Got to hang with some of the Kroger crew for Halloween
- Got a lump removed from my breast
- Drove my Mom to the ER after she broke her ankle walking down the hill in front of my apartment. It was an all-day affair… she did really good.
- Saw the last 3 songs of the Jonas Brothers at Jingle Ball with Russo… it’s a long story.
- Worked as an ETL (Manager) through the entire holiday retail season with no breaks… which is a miracle truly. It was a mood for sure. My retail people know.
That’s a wrap on 2019. What were some of your favorite memories from last year? I would love to know.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have an amazing rest of your day! See ya soon with something new!
