What a year to say the least… 2020 will definitely be a whole chapter in our next history books.
It is crazy to think of where we are now from where we started. Honestly, we have come a long way, because 2020 did not have mercy on anyone. Even so, there was a lot of good that came from this year. It opened a lot of minds, asked some serious questions, challenged everything, and found some interesting information. Looking back over the year, there were some good times. Now more than ever, it is important to remember and reflect on those moments. Before I share, I want to encourage you to make your own list of 2020 highlights. It can be whatever memorable moments you want to include from last year. Hopefully, we can find some light in this mess together.
2020, what are you saying…
- Went to Zaine’s downtown Nashville for Jadea’s birthday. We went to a couple of clubs… it was so fun! My legs hurt as soon as I got in the car.
- I went to Chicago by myself for 5 days! Who knew it would be my last trip for a while.
- Sora experienced snow for the first time. It was hilarious!
- Went to West Virginia to say see ya soon to my Memaw
- Went to a DECA event with Victoria for Target. We got to be judges for the regional competition. That was a humbling experience, because I was at the exact place for the FBLA competition we did in high school… to go from participant to judge is crazy!
- Filed my taxes by myself for the first time! #adulting
- Younger Perception released our first album Acid Rain (March 19, 2020)
- Had a friend’s Easter… so fun!
- Threw a parade for one of my employees at work to congratulate her on winning a scholarship.
- I bought my first car… a Toyota Rav 4. What a moment!
- Went to Victoria’s wedding, which was so beautiful
- Jadea and I had a sleepover at my place for the first time in forever
- Younger Perception released A Blissful Taste (July 31, 2020)
- Younger Perception released a 8 part series of covers and originals with visualizers on YouTube
- Completed the first semester of my MBA program while working 50 hours a week… what a time
- Worked as an executive team lead (manager) during the pandemic
- Worked on my mental health
After reflecting on all of the incredible things you did in 2020, take some time and set some goals and/or intentions for 2021.
2020 was truly a year of reflection and reevaluation, so 2021 is the perfect time to find a purpose for all of the things you discovered. They can be as general or specific as you want. The goal is give yourself a direction.
My goals for 2021…
- I want a change of scenery
- Create and release more music for Younger Perception
- Do more blog posts
- Launch the Younger Perception Website
- Do well in school… 3 semesters to go!
- Continue working on my mental health… listening and trying to understand myself better
- Find balance between work and personal
- Be more optimistic… don’t let low times keep me down
- Take risks… be ambition
- Maybe go on a covid safe trip or two… if that is a possibility by the end of the year
Thank you for checking out my post. I hope you are doing well and staying safe. Hopefully, this year will be a little bit better. See ya soon with something new!
