Hello, welcome back to my site! To begin, I want to encourage you to keep stepping out of your comfort zone. It is important for us to encourage and support others. Additionally, it helps when we are able to encourage and support ourselves. Since we know there are going to be challenges, we have to be open minded to the opportunities that are put in our path. This is one of those opportunities that was unexpected, but ended up being incredible for me.

For today, I wanted to share a fun opportunity that I got to do in May. I have a work friend, Kayla, who started her own photography business. She asked our friend group if anyone wanted to do a photoshoot with her to expand her portfolio. Of course, I volunteered.

What was unique about this shoot was we had to completely create and plan everything ourselves. What a fun challenge! It was so cool getting to plan out a photoshoot. To begin, we talked different concepts and outfit ideas. After we brainstormed, she picked a shooting location. We shot at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, which is actually downtown Denver, Colorado. That was interesting getting to experience a wildlife refuge in the middle of the city. The place was so beautiful. We got to see deer, bison, and prairie dogs. I had never seen a bison or prairie dog in person, so that was amazing. Prairie dogs are so cute!

After she picked the location and set the date, I started working on my outfits. I got to pick all three looks as well as do my hair and makeup for the shoot. Honestly, I was loving it! Styling is so fun once you start getting the hang of it. Plus, it was a relaxed shoot, so having the freedom to completely choose was amazing. On the day, she picked me up and we headed to the refuge. We rode along the path stopping at any locations that looked fun to shoot at. Overall, it was a great time! She ended up sending me so many pictures, which is incredible. Below I included a mix of photos from the three different looks.

Additionally, I attached a behind the scenes Instagram reel of our adventure at the wildlife refuge. If you would like to see more of the photos, we posted a ton on Instagram. You can click on the link to check out more.
