Welcome to American Eagle’s February floor-set!
For Spring 2, they went full spring wear. They still had hints of winter wear mostly in sweaters and jackets. You can definitely see a switch from the warmer and icy colors of winter to the pastels of spring. For this store specifically, we had to make sure to have a balance of brand direction and inventory. Since we are in Colorado, it was still very snowy outside. Although guests were interested in spring clothing, they were mostly buying winter wear. We did deviate from the documents a little in order to maximize product and prioritize selling what guests were looking for.
In addition to the weather, this is the season where retail leaders take vacation to use some of their PTO. We had some leaders in and out. Plus, the team was back in school, so we had less availability. All in all, this ended up being a great set. Please excuse the photos. After reflecting back, I could have taken some better ones. With the resources we had, we were able to divide and conquer. This time I got to do different parts of the set than I did for Spring 1. Below I attached some photos of the projects I worked on. Also, I put them in the order of how I worked on them. During floor-set prep, you analysis which areas will have the biggest moves. You will often see a domino effect of product moving. Since you do this over 3 or 4 days, you always gotta have a good stopping point, so you can open the store. In my district, we do floor-set in the morning. For this set, I started in women’s room 3, did some mannequins, went to women’s room 2, then men’s room 2, then women’s room 1, and ended in men’s room 1. Of course, I had other people assisting in those rooms as well working on other areas. It is cool seeing how everything comes together when you are working on different projects.
