After the cousin trip, it was time for the first concert of the summer season. What better way to start than with Russ and 6lack!
In 2024, I had the opportunity to go to Russ’s “It Was You All Along” North American tour. On this tour, he had 6lack opening for him. What an incredible show! I saw it at Ball Arena. I went with two friends. It was actually unique, because we all arrived at the venue separately. I arrived early, which is something I started working on in 2024. Usually, I try to work the day of the show or carpool. I finally asked myself why I was making myself rush to get to every concert. Since this realization, I have worked on being on time. For this show, I was not only the first person to arrive out of the group, but I was able to go to the bathroom and get a snack. They both arrived shortly after. At this point, I am starting to figure out the seating at Ball Arena. I tried to get good seats that were not expensive. Honestly, it ended up being a good view.
The show was amazing! I liked the stage setup and simplicity. I enjoyed seeing 6lack and Russ just enjoying themselves on stage. I loved seeing them on tour together. They complimented each other well. This is going to sound so niche. The only thing that would have made it better is seeing them in Atlanta. I say that because I regularly go to concerts. Especially being from Nashville, I would often go to Atlanta to see artists on tour. There is always something special about seeing people in their element. I know the energy at their Atlanta show was great. Nonetheless, I had the best time. They both played everything I wanted to hear. After the show, we took some photos and caught up for a moment. Then, we said our goodbyes. Of course, I wanted to share some moments I captured during the show. I attached those below.

Stage Change: This might be random. I enjoy watching the stage crew throughout the show. One of the best parts of a concert is seeing how the artist brings their story to life. The stage is an important aspect of that. I hope one day I get to learn the ins and outs, because the process is fascinating. Below I attached a video of me watching them break down the stage between 6lack’s and Russ’s performance.
