Last summer, we went to West Virginia for one of our yearly trips to see the family. I was excited to finally get to go! I work in retail, so I often have to miss our usual trips. This time I was able to get the time off. While we were there, we had the opportunity to go exploring with one of my Mom’s childhood best friends and her daughter. We had the best day!
To begin, we started our journey with an hour car ride listening to Lizzo the whole way. After repeating the album twice, we arrived at Great Falls, Virginia. Here, it had a beautiful hiking trail with an overlook of a waterfall as well as some great scenery and history. While we were there, I had to take some pictures to share with y’all. Here are some moments I captured…
After our hike, we decided to continue our adventure downtown Washington D.C. We finished the rest of Lizzo’s album on the way. When we arrived, we headed to the historical Black Lives Matter Blvd. It was an incredible sight to see! We walked around the monument area. We ended up seeing the White House and a protest. To conclude, we ended our night by getting some D.C. big sliced pizza, which tasted amazing!
Every time we go to West Virginia, we try to do something new since my grandparents live so close to everything. Although I have been to Washington D.C. before, it was cool to see something that felt so personal and inspiring to me. Also, I love being in nature, so getting to see a waterfall fulfilled all of my Disney Pocahontas dreams.
Thank you so much for checking out my photos and travel adventure. I hope you are having an incredible day wherever you are. I will see you soon with something new!
