Going Live: Firefly Music Festival 2021
After stepping off the plane and getting a couple hours of sleep, Kristen and I were ready to start our musical adventure. It was an easy drive to the venue. Surprisingly, it was in the center of the city. Parking was easy every night, which is always a bonus. All in all, it was a great experience that I will never forget.
To begin, this was my first festival. It was incredible! I saw so many amazing artists and had an experience unlike any other. With the combination of fall vibes and great music, it made for a memorable trip. For me, the best part was getting to see so many different artists in such a short timespan. I was checking off the bucket list left and right. I will say Firefly does some great lineups. This year’s lineup was insane! Now, I have to make sure I can go next year.
Below I highlighted some of my favorite artists and moments from every night. Hope you enjoy!
Day 1: 9/23
Tate McRae, Billie Eilish
“Billie was the perfect person to close the first night. The show felt so special especially because it was one of her first performances back from the pandemic.”
Day 2: 9/24
Cage the Elephant, Wiz Khalifa, and The Killers
“Such a great variety for this day. It was so fun getting to see Wiz Khalifa… Black and Yellow is a classic. Also, The Killers… I mean bucket list goals for sure.”
Day 3: 9/25
Blackbear, Roddy Ricch, Glass Animals, Tame Impala, and Diplo
“Glass Animals stole the show for me this night. They were absolutely incredible! Tame Impala had one of my favorite set designs and visuals out of the whole festival. From the circle of lights hovering over the stage to the graphics, he created such a good vibe.”
Day 4: 9/26
Nelly, Trevor Daniels, Megan thee Stallion, Portugal the Man, Machine Gun Kelly, and Lizzo
“This was a day of legends really. It was everything to hear Dilemma live… literally a gift. Then, Megan thee Stallion was incredible of course! I loved her set intro. Lizzo closed out the entire festival. She was amazing! I loved the intro and her background singers/dancers. They looked like the goddesses from Hercules. Her vocals and the vibe were everything. The audience was singing all of those lyrics out.”
Thank you so much for checking out my post! It was truly a life changing experience especially after going through the height of the pandemic. For sure, the fun I needed. After seeing this year’s lineup for Firefly, I cannot wait to have another opportunity to go. I mean Avril Lavigne… are you kidding me?!
I hope you are having a great day. I hope you are taking care of yourself and getting to do some of the things you love. It is important to make time for ourselves.
See you soon with something new!
