Simple Ornament DIY Craft

Hello, welcome back to my site!

Today, I wanted to share a quick and simple ornament craft that I enjoy doing to personalize the tree. I love this craft because it does not take very long to do. For this project, my goal was to make something personalized for each one of the pets in my apartment. I only had 2 hours to work on it. I wanted to do something fun, but not too technical considering time. Here is what I came up with.

Step 1: Gather your materials

I went to Hobby Lobby to get all of my materials. I knew they would have the clear glass ornaments. Plus, they have plastic ornaments as well as different shape ornaments. There is definitely some options.

Step 2: Remove the tops to add things inside

I always like to start by coming up with a plan for what I want to put inside. This is because what goes inside will impact how the design on the outside can be seen. I like to make sure they will work well together. Sometimes, it’s easier to tell when the inside is already filled.

Step 3: Fill the inside

For this set of ornaments, I decided to put glitter on the inside. I won’t deny it was a challenge getting it into there. As you get the hang of it, your hand becomes more steady. Plus, you can always reuse the leftovers.

Step 4: Add your outside design

Honestly, you can do steps 3 or 4 first depending on the design you want to do. I wanted the focal point to be the glitter, so I added the pets’ names and the year on the outside. I love nostalgic things like this, so I always add the date.

Step 5: Add the tops back on and you are ready to go!

I definitely had the best luck, because the tops were so easy to put back on. Then, I was able to add my hooks and hang them on the tree.

Thank you so much for checking out my post. Hopefully, y’all are enjoying this creative content. There are so many ways to do this craft. If you try it out, please let me know in the comments below. I would love to see what you make.

I hope you are having an incredible day and holiday season. I will see you soon with something new!
