Welcome back to my site! Today, we are changing up the visuals a little bit. Over the summer, I had the opportunity to help reopen our Castle Rock American Eagle outlet store. Store openings are some of my favorite things to do. I wanted to share some of the fun we got up too.
To begin, this was my first time going to the Castle Rock outlet store. Since it is a factory store, we had a lot of space and product to work with. Below, I wanted to start off by sharing some of the sights from the drive. Colorado has some beautiful nature. Then, I will share some behind the scene looks at some of the things I got to assist with.
When I arrived at Castle Rock, they were just finishing the interior layout. They were installing the fixtures. Product was beginning to arrive and be set. For the most part, the stockroom stayed the same. There wasn’t much work for us to complete back there. We were able to start on the sales-floor. My first day, I started in women’s setting some denim, marketing, and mannequins. Below you can see me steaming some clothes to put on our mannequins as well as us starting on the denim. Essentially, we had to start with denim first, so we could start setting clearance. This was going to be a huge task considering this is a factory store. Factory stores typically have a ton of clearance, deals, and variety for those bargain guests. After working on women’s denim and mannequins, I worked on the women’s center lead, which is the table you see as soon as you walk in the door. I gave it a little refresh as well as added some of the product we were waiting to arrive.
For the second and third days, we spent the rest of the time completely setting up men’s. We started with denim and then moved to the walls. I had the opportunity to help with some denim placement. After that was in a solid place, I got to set these two walls that are pictured below. What a fun challenge! I loved getting to be innovative and assess product inventory to make the most of these walls. Additionally, we worked on a couple other walls as well as a small clearance section for men’s. Overall, we were able to get the store map in a good place for opening that was easy to follow for guests. For the final fourth day, we did finishing touches where ever they needed additional help before having to head back to my store. Also, the marketing kit arrived right before store opening, so the team was able to fill in the rest of the marketing around the store. All in all, it was a great experience and a lot of fun. I enjoy working on projects like this especially when we can help other stores in our district.
Thank you for checking out my post! Let me know below what other types of things y’all want to see in the visual merchandising field.
Hope you are having an amazing day. I will see you soon with something new!
