Hello, welcome back to my page! I wanted to share a quick travel adventure I had recently. Last year, my Mom invited me to go see Beyoncé with her. Of course, I had to stop what I was doing and fly down to Nashville to see the show. Recently, in Nashville, they built an African American Music Museum on Broadway downtown. Since I was already going to be in the city, I figured why not check out the museum before the show.
African American Music Museum:
Friday night, I took the last flight out from Denver to Nashville. The next morning, I met up with my Grandmom to go to the African American Music Museum. We arrived a little after opening. Luckily, there were not a ton of people in the morning, so it was easy to walk around and explore everything. We started by seeing a video presentation called Roots that tells the history of African American culture and influence. Afterwards, we were able to explore.
Throughout the museum, there were interactive areas that allowed you to immerse yourself into the culture. One of my favorites was the gospel choir room. You were able to put on a robe and sing a gospel classic. Every ceiling to the floor had an element to help tell the story. The technology throughout was fun. There was truly something for everyone. Since it was the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop, they had an art exhibit to celebrate. It was nice getting to check out the exhibit after finishing the museum.
Overall, my Grandmom and I were impressed by the museum. It was done so well. It had great information and educational moments. Ultimately, it felt like home. To have a beautiful place dedicated to telling your culture and history is incredible. Also, to be apart of that culture shared in the museum was a first for me. I found myself telling my Grandmom so many times, “I was there for that.” What a cool moment to share with my Grandmom who had experienced even more of what they were sharing in the museum. Below are some pictures from the museum and art exhibit.
Beyoncé Concert: The Renaissance Tour
After finishing up at the art exhibit, I dropped my Grandmom back home and met up with my Mom. First, we got some food and then headed to Nissan Stadium for the Beyoncé concert. This was her Renaissance Tour, so I was excited. I enjoy the album. Interestingly, she did not have an opener. There was a DJ for a little bit and then he left. Honestly, we sat there for awhile just waiting. I was able to get some ice cream, run to the bathroom again, and catch up with my Mom. Around 9pm, the show started.
First, I liked the stage set up. It aided the show really well and also was unique. The props in this show were incredible. You can tell they spent a ton of time planning out the stage elements, because they were amazing. The horse and the seashell were next level. Also, she had some talented dancers, musicians, and singers on stage with her. I got to see the Les Twins, which was insane. They are so amazing. She sang so many jams. I was dancing and singing the whole time. The crowd was going off, which always makes a show better. Luckily, the rain held out for us until we were almost home. Overall, a great night! The next morning, I flew back to Denver with just enough time to get to work. Here are some photos I took of Nashville and the show.
To conclude, I did post 2 reels of the trip on my Instagram. I attached those below if you wanted to see this trip in a different style of content. I have been loving video lately. I have been practicing both on Instagram and YouTube. If you ever want to see more video content, you can head over there. They will be linked below.
Thank you so much for checking out my post! Please let me know in the comments below if you have ever travelled somewhere for 24 hours. I’m interested to know.
I hope you are having a wonderful day. I will see you soon with something new!
