Gooch Cousin Trip to Denver 2024

It has been a while since the Gooch cousins were able to get together. In the cousin group chat, I suggested that we go on a cousin trip. To my surprise, everyone was down. After taking a poll, everyone wanted to come visit me in Colorado. I ended up hosting the first cousin trip!

At the beginning of summer, some of my cousins on the Gooch side flew out to Denver for our first cousin trip. It was truly the best, so relaxing and fun! Everyone ended up staying with me. I was also the chauffeur, so it made the trip a little more affordable for everyone. Honestly, it was exactly what I needed. The only thing missing was the last Gooch cousin. Next time, we’ll make it happen.

For the trip, we did it over a weekend. The first night we got some food and chilled at my place catching up and watching a movie. Everyone got to meet Sora and Kira. Kira found her a new bestie. Since it was everyone’s first time in the city, we had to do some tourist things. We started at the Botanical Gardens, the Aquarium, and then got some dinner at a Mexican restaurant. The next day, we hiked Red Rocks and got some food at The Dumpling Factory. On the last day, we went to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge because I love that place. Then, we ended up going for a walk downtown before I started the airport runs. One of the highlights was making breakfast for everyone and Zeek playing Adele on my keyboard before we went on the hike. It just reminded me of old times at my Grandparents’ house over the summers. I could not have enjoyed it more.

One thing I always love about family, especially my family, is how connected and similar we are. Sometimes, I forget how great it is getting to spend time with people who like to do what you like. It was so easy to make plans. Everyone was so laid back and go with the flow. It was a core memory for sure. I cannot wait for the next one! I wanted to share some moments we captured below, so hope you enjoy the different styles of media.

Zeek brought his drone. He was able to record and send me two videos from the hike. I definitely wanted to include those to look back on. There is something so cool about drone footage. Those are attached next.

Lastly, I did post two reels on Instagram of this trip. If you would like to see this adventure through a different lens, they are linked below.

Thank you so much for checking out my post! Let me know in the comments below one of your favorite family memories. I hope you are having a great day. I will see you soon with something new!
