Denver Pride 2024
As you may know, June is Pride month. It is a month to celebrate individuality and uniqueness. Most importantly, this month highlights how far we have come. Let’s get into it.
Denver has events all month for Pride. At the end of the month, they always have Pride weekend at the Civic Center Park. All weekend they have performances at the main stage from different artists. On Sunday, they have a Pride parade that goes through downtown. Given my work schedule, I had limited time to go to Pride this year. My friends invited me to go with them on Saturday. I figured why not join before I had to close at work. In the morning, we met up at the train station. We took the light rail in. This was a pro tip considering some of the roads closet to the venue were closed. Also, the parking was full. After arriving, we did a short walk to the park. Once inside, we walked all of the booths. We were able to get free goodie bags along the way. Also, we bought some tickets, so we could get food and a drink. I am not sure why, but the vendors do not accept cash or card for food and drinks at the event. You have to buy tickets and then you pay for the food and drink with the tickets. It was an interesting process.
Overall, the weather was great! After walking around, we sat in the middle of the park and chilled out. Shortly after, I had to start the journey back to my car to get to work. At first, I was nervous considering I do not take the light rail often. It was surprisingly easy and I made it on time.
There is something about Pride that makes me want to do dramatic makeup. More specifically, a dramatic eye makeup look. This year, I went on Pinterest to see which look I wanted to attempt. I challenged myself with doing a rainbow across both of my eyes. Surprisingly, it turned out well. Since I did not leave myself with much time to get to work, I ended up wearing the makeup look to work. I was able to truly put it to the test. For the most part, it lasted throughout the day well. There were only one or two eyeshadow colors that started to fade. On the contrary, my eyes were so irritated by the end. I could not wait to take it off. It was totally worth it and all I had to do was wear less eye makeup for the next few days. I added two photos below so you can see the look up close.
I did post a reel of this adventure on my Instagram. If you would like to see this trip through a different perspective. It is attached next.
Thank you so much for checking out my post! Let me know in the comments if you have ever been to Pride and what your experience was like. I hope you are having a great day. I will see you soon with something new!
