The Spanish Chronicles Part 1
This past week has been such a surreal experience. I still sit in my room and say to myself, “Wow, you’re in Spain!” Everything has been amazing so far! While I am here, I am living with an amazing Spanish family with my best friend, Madeline. We discovered that our host Mom did not speak any English. Madeline and I are okay at Spanish. At first, we were really quiet. Now, we have full conversations with our host Mom, which is great progress! Also, we have discovered that I am better at understanding and Madeline is better at responding. We put our strengths together and have been successful.
In other news, we walk 30 minutes to the University everyday. The University of Alcalá de Henares is in the center where all the food, stores, and culture are. We have put in a lot of miles walking and exploring. When we first got here, our university took us on a tour of Alcalá de Henares and Madrid. Since I love taking pictures, I figured I would share some of my favorite pictures that I taken so far.
