Wrapping up 2021

Happy New Year!! Welcome back to my site. It has been some time since I have been able to upload, but I am excited to get back into it. Like 2020, 2021 was filled with some insane moments and a lot of clarity. It was a time of self-reflection and understanding what is truly important. As a result, it challenged us to think, redefine, and have purpose with our actions.

Throughout this year, I tried to live more in the moment and value the present time. In the end, I was able to not only strengthen my relationships, but also experience some incredible things.

Here’s my 2021 highlights…

  • Got another tattoo on my left arm. It was Avatar and nature inspired. I got it with Russo, which was fun. It turned out incredible… the artist is amazing.
  • Younger Perception released our song Awoken on February 12, 2021

  • Took a week off for my birthday and spent my time hanging out with family and friends. It was so refreshing and nice.
  • Went to Atlanta with Kristen for the weekend. It was so fun… check out my post Weekend in Atlanta to find out more.
  • Sora hurt her paw and it took months for it to heal. We are finally in a good place with it.
  • I got my cartilage pierced for one of my birthday presents
  • Spent Easter with Kristen… She made me dinner and we binge watched Tiny House Nation.
  • Younger Perception released our album Awoken on May 7, 2021. It was amazing getting to work on this project especially while going to school and working 50 hours a week.

  • Went to Dee’s wedding. It was amazing getting to hang out with my Target team outside of work. We had a great time and everyone looked incredible dressed up.
  • Went on a classic Florida vacation with my family in Orlando, Florida. We had a blast and even went to Universal Studios. Look for a post coming soon
  • Went to a baseball game with the Target fam. It was fun switching it up from family dinner. *Only missing Austin… he left us to go hang out with his other friends.*
  • Saw Cruella at the movies with Kristen and Dominique
  • Hung out with the Kroger crew for a 4th of July party. It was great catching up with them.
  • Went to West Virginia to visit the family for a week. While we were down there, Mom, Kelsey, and I spent one day in Washington DC with Sonya and Amyri. It was surreal seeing the mural they painted for Black Lives Matter. Look for a post coming soon
  • Went to Grandad’s funeral. Given the circumstances, it was nice getting to see all of the cousins. It had been a long time since we were all together. One of the nights we went out to Broadway in downtown Nashville. It was great hanging out.
  • Got my 1st hair sew-in. It has been great letting my hair relax and shortening my hair time in the morning.
  • Went to a Jonas Brothers concert for their Remember This tour. It was my first concert back. I loved every minute of it!
  • Went to Delaware and the Firefly music festival for the 1st time with Kristen. It was great getting to explore Kristen’s hometown. We did some tax-free shopping and went to the pumpkin patch. Plus, it was the first music festival I had ever been to, so it was exciting to hear all of those amazing artists.
  • Celebrated Alexis’s birthday at a vineyard. We did a wine tasting while we were there. It was so fun and original. Plus, Jadea, Alexis, and I had a sleepover the night before.
  • Went to a H.E.R. concert with the family. Her and her openers were incredible. The show and venue were stunning!
  • Had a sleepover with Jadea at my place… we had a blast chilling and catching up.
  • Saw a fire show with Russo, Aubrie, and Ben downtown Chattanooga on Halloween. It was so cool and we dressed up. I was Korra from Avatar: The Legend of Korra.
  • Went out with some of my Target team for dinner. It was nice getting to spend time with them.

  • Went to an Alina Baraz concert with Kelsey
  • Graduated with my Master’s of Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University!!!

During 2021, I spent a lot of time thinking and processing my life. Now, I not only have a better understanding of myself, but I am in a place where I am ready to be productive and chase my dreams. Since school is finally done, it will be great having extra time on my hands.

Here are my goals for 2022:

  • I want to change locations
  • Work on my personal brand and social media
  • Practice more editing and photography
  • Establish a healthy fitness/eating routine
  • Create and release more music for Younger Perception
  • Launch a YP website
  • Be more consistent with my blog posts
  • Work on creating my own business
  • Go on a trip or two
  • Continue working on my mental health… possibly even getting back into therapy
  • Continue learning and exploring
  • Balance between living in the present and the future

As we begin this year, I hope you take some time to self-reflect and set your intentions and goals for yourself. It is valuable knowing the direction you want to go in. If I learned anything in 2021, it is that the world is ours. With some hard work and determination, we can do anything.

Thank you so much for checking out my post! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I will see you soon with something new!
