American Eagle Visuals: Holiday 2 2024

Hey, welcome back to more American Eagle visuals. At the end of October, we had our holiday 2 floor-set. We started getting in more winter clothing. Plus, it was the last week before Halloween. We got all of the Halloween product pushed to the floor. Also, we started getting in a ton of holiday accessories, which means Christmas was arriving!

This set was exciting, because we got most of our players back from school. Our leadership team went into this set strong. After the floor-set call, I partnered with my part-time merchandising leader. We were able to make a plan, partner with our store leader, and get it mapped in the app for review. I attached the map below. I do not always get to sit down and properly do the map, but I got to this time. I felt good about the result. They recently introduced the mapped app as an easier way to map where product goes in stores. It is a cool resource. I have enjoyed learning and using it.

For this floor-set, we were not getting a ton of newness in tops and denim. We were mostly seeing increased product levels of accessories. There were certain areas that did not change much from holiday 1 floor-set. With those new tops arriving, we decided to pre-set some of those specific items to make it easier. Below I attached pictures of some of the adjustments we made. Also, I went ahead and updated the fitting room outfits, because they were sold through. I included those as well.

Pre Floor-set

Even though, we did have new items arriving, there were a couple of lates. Plus, we got sent the wrong store’s marketing materials. Luckily, we were able to get everything re-ordered. As it arrived, we filled in our empty spots. We were able to do floor-set in three nights with an incredible team. I was proud, because we were able to get majority of it done. Also, we were able to leave on time at the end of our shift, which is always my goal. Sometimes, when you start making adjustments in the store, they can snowball off of each other leaving holes. I made an extra effort to make sure we were at a good stopping point each night, so we could leave on time. We were successful every night!

In addition, we maintained the dual gender clearance in men’s room 3. In the castle, or women’s room 3, we created a loungewear shop housing both women’s and men’s product. The company continued the Red Bull collaboration and the Timberland x AE collaboration. We saw some new product with the Timberland collaboration.

Every year our regional leader and regional visual leader walk all of their stores. The store team, district leader, and regional leaders go over business overview, business performance, and visual standards. We had the privilege of hosting our regional leaders right after floor-set. Overall, we had a successful visit with great feedback from our regional partners. Below I wanted to include the adjustments we made based on our regional leaders’ feedback. Mostly, it was making sure we had strong and consistent story telling throughout the store. We want the right product in the right place to build a look that speaks to the guest.
