Summer music favorites Part 1
Summertime is always a perfect time to discover new music. Whether that’s because you have more time to explore or you need to find your next jam, you are always listening. Although the options of music are endless, we always tend to have a couple of songs that outshine them all.
I know I have a bad habit of listening to the same song on repeat. If anything, it is a good indication of what my favorite songs are. My favorite songs change all the time, because I am always listening to all kinds of music. I think it is interesting to see what music other people have been enjoying, because there is always the opportunity for someone else to discover something new that they will like too. I have decided to make a list of some of my favorite summer songs. The only problem is I am very indecisive and like a lot of music. I decided to make a part 1 and part 2. This songs are not in a particular order. Part 1 is the songs that I enjoyed in June and part 2 are songs that I enjoyed in July for the most part.
1. The Cure by Lady Gaga
Actually, I first heard this song in a Superfruit mashup called The Evolution of Lady Gaga. It is good, so check it out. When I first heard the melody played on the piano, I was sold. Mostly, I like the vibe. I think the lyrics are very interesting. I feel like she is writing for a specific moment in her life. As a result, the song is vulnerable. She is allowing us to feel her inner emotions. She shows us what love can do to a person.
2. There for you by Martin Garrix and Troye Sivan
I love Troye Sivan. I think he is amazing! His voice is beautiful. Of course when this song came out, I was hooked. I had not heard any of Martin Garrix’s music. He did excellent on this song. The vibe is so chill. The beat and effects are amazing. The lyrics are great! The message is so relateable. Especially for myself, I find myself feels these emotions. It is always reassuring when you know that someone else is experiencing a similar situation.
3. I’ll find you by Lecrae and Tori Kelly
I love Tori Kelly! She is beautiful and talented. She is great at everything she does. I just love her. I had never heard anything from Lecrae before, but he is amazing in this song. The song has a powerful message that I believe everyone can benefit from. The contrast of the piano and Tori’s voice to the beat and Lecrae’s voice is amazing. The song flows very well. It is beautiful all around.
4. Malibu and Inspired Miley Cyrus
I think Miley is doing great things. I am so happy that she is loving life, and enjoying where she is. Honestly, I can feel it in her music. There is nothing more I could ask of an artist than to pour all their emotions into their music. I had to include both of these songs, because they both have powerful messages. I can feel every emotion in these songs. One of my favorite live performance is when she performance Malibu at the Billboard Music Awards. It is subtle, but my favorite aspect of the song is the aw she adds in the chorus in between the words. It is perfection!
5. Mama by Jonas Blue and William Singe
Y’all know I love William Singe. I am pretty sure I have talked about him in another post. Coincidentally, I was in Spain riding in a car when I first heard this song on the radio. I was so happy to hear it on the radio, because I watch all of his videos on YouTube. It is always amazing when you hear a YouTuber on the radio. Anyways, I think it is a great summer song. My favorite thing is the xylophone effect throughout the song. The lyrics are fun, but purposeful. The song was executed well.
6. No Promises by Cheat Codes ft. Demi Lovato
I love Demi Lovato! She is absolutely amazing and has a beautiful voice. She hits notes that I could only dream of. I am sure y’all are like she loves everyone, but it is true. I enjoy a lot of artists. Nonetheless, I think this song is interesting. The music video is cool. The play on words in the chorus is good. The edm effects are excellent. The tempo, vibe, and message make it a great summer song.
7. 2U by David Guetta ft. Justin Bieber
This song is great. I love everything about it. Justin Bieber sounds good. David Guetta did a great job on the musical aspects. The drops in the chorus are perfection. David times them perfectly. Overall, I just really enjoy it.
8. Now or Never by Halsey
This song gives me the best vibes. The song is so chill. The beat during the chorus is perfection. I like the shifts in the beat during the chorus. Halsey is great. I remember hearing her for the first time at the Weeknd concert. My friends and I had to google her during the intermission to see who she was. It was worth it.
I know there are a lot of songs, but I listen to a lot of music. Also, I am indecisive, so that means that I have even more songs that I loved this summer. I want to share all of them, so stay tuned for part 2.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!!
